NVMe SDD bootable drive through the PCI express slot??.
You'd have to drill into Dell support documents to see if your motherboard supports NVMe booting. Or maybe go to Crucial and see if their configurator would want to sell you an NVMe drive, given your model number. I think they date from 2009-2010 ish. The bios is unlikely to have nvme module. You could probably mod it.

The sound card would be on the above slot while the gtx 1060. I have installed just one GPU then installed the drivers. I have hooked up just 1 GPU in the second slot without anything in the 1 slot, but does not recognize GPU that way. I do not see but one GPU in Device Manager no matter what I try. I have tested both GPUs on the PCI-E slot 1 and they both work fine alone. Specs: Maximus VII Hero MB 4790k i7.

Answer (1 of 8): If you have 3 videocards, and want to have four, getting a motherboard with more slots is the recommended option, as PCIe ports used for videocards require slot speeds like 16x or 8x. If you only have 3 PCIe slots that take videocards, then there is not going to be a cable or ri.

I'm almost giving up, but I would like to try another CPU to see if the problem is incompatibility with motherboard/CPU because of the old bios version. And yes, I plugged the monitor cord into the GPU. trents said: If some of EathDog's suggestions don't work, I suggest removing the CPU and checking for bent pins. Did allready check that. Also the CPU together with everything else works 100% with my old mobo. Just to make it alittle clear it's not the first time I change the mobo.

I can't get my PC to detect any graphics card despite plugging them into the PCIe x16 slot (closest to the CPU) and their fans coming on. There is no indication of a graphics card in Device Manager. Things I have tried: -Updating BIOS. -Installing most recent chipset drivers. Insure you have a even and solid fit in the PCi-e slot. Then secure the graphic card with the appropriate latching mechanism or thumb screw, to the rear of the case. Graphic cards can be heavy, so it is recommended to always secure your graphic card to the case rather than put stress on the PCIe slot. Now install the second graphic card.
