Well, he's wrong. My 2011 STI had enough tension in the rear with the LSD that when swapping wheels I could jack up the rear from the differential and torque down both sides with or without the e-brake. The rear wouldn't spin freely if the front wheels were on the ground. Jack up front and rear and I could spin all 4 wheels freely. Usually, E-bike comes with two kinds of motor Hub motor and Mid-drive motor. Hub motor, as the name suggests, is connected to wheel hub; some bike has hub motor on the front wheel, and some bike has hub motor on the rear wheel. Lean over the bike, putting weight on the seat, loose the left side axle nut, then tighten it again. Continue applying weight and tighten the drive side axle nut. Make sure both nuts are firmly torqued to about 40 ft lbs. Put the bike back on the workstand, spin the rear wheel and confirm that the brake rotor isn't rubbing on the brake pads.

My new store bought bike came with front wheel axle nuts over-tightened, cutting down freewheeling a lot. That was easily remedied. The rear wheel is much less restricted than the front was, but it doesn't spin for a long time at all. Before I take the wheel off I wondered "Do such rear hub. To check the rear brake rotor, flip the bike upside-down and set the handlebar grips on the blocks to protect the display and controls, or have a friend stabilize the bike upright. Spin the wheel to check if it spins freely. There should be little to no contact between the brake pads and brake rotor. Make sure you do not touch the brake rotor.

My FLH is up on a jack and the front wheel will not spin freely - it feels and sounds as if the brake pads are dragging against the rotors and it requires a moderate amount force to move it; something is clearly hanging it up. Is this a function of the forks being extended. Your hub probably uses cup and cone bearings that can be loosened when they aren't running smoothly. 1 level 2 Op ยท 2h It does feel smooth. I loosened the nut that holds the cone in place on the axel a bit more until there was wheel play and then tightened it back up bit by bit until it was secure but not tightened down. Not much change. 1.

Il try hitting it. Put the wheel in your lap and tap the axle out between your legs. When you get the hub apart, post some pictures of the axle and both sides of the hub. It kinda looks like the wrong driver; there doesn't look like there's enough room on the bearing shoulder to fit the 3 driver bearings. 1 It might not be the disc brake. It might be that the hub is seized up from rust. You can check if it is the brake or not by loosening the caliper and.

Prying didn't help. Prying and hitting the side popped it loose and it moved back into position with no further problems. Wheel is spinning freely as it should. Worth a quick look anyway, make sure the struts aren't all the way up or down, but I doubt that's the problem. The transmission may just be stuck in P for some reason. If the ideas above don't pan out, take a look at the shifting linkage from the shifter to the transmission. This assumes you have an automatic. I had the same problem not too long ago. Go to you're LBS, it's a 10 min fix. 99% of the time it's the chain or cassette (or both) that is worn out. It's the paw spring. 100% sure. It's the paw. Quick question for other R1200 owners. I have a 2007 GSA with ABS. When your bike is on the center stand in neutral should the rear wheel spin freely. The rear may not rotate freely if: The chain needs lube (even if it doesn't it is a drag on the rear wheel and it will slow it down) Rear brakes are tight to the disk. Wheel is out of alignment with the chain. Remove the chain and loosen up the brakes, then see how it spins. Rock the wheel from side to side at the top of the tire and see if.
